Admin getting “You do not have sufficient permissions” message

If your administrator is getting a “You do not have sufficient permissions” message when trying to access the back-end of your account, there are a couple of things to check...


The first thing to check is if they are accessing the correct admin login page.

  1. The login page is typically something like <mysite>.com/wp-admin or <mysite>.com/admin-login. Make sure they try both.

The next option is to check their permissions/role...

  1. Log into your PTOffice account as an administrator that does have access to the backend.
  2. Go to Members > All Members and find the user in question.
  3. Click the “Edit” option when hovering over the user’s name.
  4. Scroll down to the Permissions area and be sure only the desired Role has been assigned.
  5. Be sure to uncheck the “Subscriber” role if this user is supposed to have administrative access.
  6. Save the user’s profile.

At this point, you can use the “View As” feature to see if it has fixed the issue.
